welcome to my one-woman show

kind of.

I couldn't do anything that I do alone. my entire existence is due to the community of humans that raised me which includes my parents, my aunts and uncles, my grandparents, the folks that sponsored my family, Paris by Night (iykyk), PBS, ESL teachers, gifted teachers, basically all of my teachers, which also kind of includes the internet (shout out to Tumblr, Pinterest, and YouTube for teaching me everything I know about photography), my friends, my mentors, and my clients.

every single soul that I have met whether in passing or for longer periods of time have significantly impacted who I am as a person and how I view the world and I believe this translates to my work. the more I get to know myself and the world around me the better I can document it and authentically depict how present moments feel so that future humans can be shaped by it just as I was.

I'll forever use photography to communicate what is too hard to describe

But at my core I am a queer woman born to a family of Vietnamese refugees who came to America with absolutely nothing but each other and the clothes on their back. I was raised on social programs like WIC and food stamps. My Vietnamese culture and heritage are big parts of who I am and why I choose to celebrate people of color and our collective and individual cultures. I believe that stories from the queer and BIPOC community have been erased, rewritten, and hidden for centuries and I don’t believe in continuing that trend. I will always go out of my way to fight for and tell the stories of my community because our stories deserve to be told, captured, and shared for centuries to come. We deserve to be remembered for all the beauty we bring into this world and we deserve to tell it our way.
